Rum Boogie Café is a unique restaurant and bar established in 1985 as the cornerstone of the Historic Beale Street and Highway 61, in the mid 1980’s It blends down-home Delta dining with smokin’ Memphis blues played live seven nights a week.

So it’s only fitting that Rum Boogie Café houses some of music’s most sought-after memorabilia, including more that 200 autographed guitars from some of the greatest performers in the music industry including Elvis, Bo Diddley, Joe Walsh, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Joel, Rufus Thomas, Billy Gibbons, Albert Collins, Bon Jovi, Leon Russell, Carl Perkins, Booker T and the MGs, Luther Ingram, Ike Turner, Sting, Scotty Moore, The Memphis Horns, Gregg Allman, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith….the list goes on and on.

But music isn’t the only thing that makes Rum Boogie Café noteworthy. It’s seafood gumbo is a two-time winner of the International Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival and Gumbo Cookoff in Memphis, a city that takes its cooking contests seriously. Also on the menu are signature dishes like Red Beans and Rice, Fried Catfish, Hickory Smoked BBQ Ribs and Pork Shoulder and their famous Southern Style Blue Plate lunches featuring Mississippi Delta-style vegetables.

Rum Boogie Café is the one place where ALL the music and ALL the food is “Memphis” ALL the time. Click here for more information on Rum Boogie Cafe.

Rum Boogie Cafe's Blues Hall is the last real juke joint on the street. It's small, it's old, and once you squeeze your way in you won't ever want to leave.

Located next door to and connected with Rum Boogie Café, Blues Hall hosts some of the best local blues artists nightly. Smaller than most of the other clubs on the street, the walls are adorned with historic family photos from the W.C. Handy family and other blues memorabilia. At Blues Hall though, the draw is the music, and for musicians, it seems to be a lucky place.  Watermelon Slim got a record deal after Fred Litwin from the Northern Blues record label heard him play there. Shortly after, Slim was nominated for a record tying six Blues Music Awards including Artist, Entertainer, Album, Song, Band, and Traditional Album of the Year. Several years prior to Slim's fortuitous gig the North MS All Stars caught the ear of Tone Cool Records in Blues Hall and went on to, among many other accolades, a Grammy nomination.

So stop in, grab a seat (if you can find one), enjoy a Beale St. Big Ass Beer, and listen to the best blues on the street 7 nights a week!

Take a walk on the wild side as you stumble up the psychdelic stair case leading you to 4 pool rooms, 3 overlooking Beale. Its quaint, cozy, intimate feel makes it the perfect spot to rack a few cues, play some shuffle board, darts or pinball.  Enjoy a wide array of spirits while you watch the bartender concoct a real european Absinthe drink!  The internet juke box will keep you entertained with all your favorites, or take a bit to enjoy the world renowned collection of movie posters adorning the walls. Walk-ins are welcome and it's a great place for group gatherings.

The Kings Palace Cafe's Tap Room is sort of the neighborhood clubhouse on Beale for tourists and locals alike.  The Tap Room features live music every Friday and Saturday.

There are hundreds of rare beer cans lining the walls. For the sports fan, there are four TVs, including a huge flat screen. Most often, the tubes are tuned to (depending on season) Memphis Tiger basketball or SEC Sports in general. The bartenders are always happy to switch over to another channel for you if you happen to be a fan of a team in a different conference or league.

The Tap Room is also famous for its Mug Club. It is undeniable that beer tastes better when you drink it out of your favorite mug. Therefore we started the TAP ROOM MUG CLUB. For the one-time price of $20 you get your own mug and receive $1 off the regular pint price as a member every time you come in. More than that, your mug becomes a part of Beale Street history.

We have members of the Mug Club from around the world. Some folks may not make a return trip to Memphis for years, but their mugs will be waiting for them when they arrive. Most people like to put a personal touch on their mug which we encourage because, as the number of mugs grows, it is easier on the bartender if he can look for something specific that makes a particular mug stand out.

So drop by, get your mug for posterity, and enjoy live music every weekend.
